These are a few of my LEAST favourite things

Bloody winter! Sigh!

I have no general gripe about any season - except Autumn in SA (which seems kinda pointless and undefined), but today Winter's got me down. I walked to work in a torrential downpour, straining against the wind that not only turned my brolly inside out, but took advantage of my vunerable position by sending freezing breezes up my shirt. Although, on the plus side, I probably looked kind of cool, will my long black coat billowing out behind me :)

Now I'm sitting at my desk, with the radiators turned way up, shivering and chittering away, while my feet attempt to freeze right off. Nothing like soaked shoes and socks to dampen your mood (pun intended - its corny, I know).

The second my boss heads out for her appointment, the boots come off and the socks (long black and white striped with red skulls and cross bones) are going on the radiator - and I'm so over the potential for this to be embarrassing! I'd rather have warm feet and no dignity, than black-with-frost-bite tootsies!

Hi Kate :>

Wow - I wouldn't want to be in your shoes (lol) right now!

Is this your first winter over there?
Keep warm, my friend :)

Thanks guys. I survived January and February (and march and april...) in London, so I've had a taste of British winters. But I'm much further north now, and it's showing! :)

I know how you feel!!! The wind chill factor alone makes me want to say 'screw the pound, i'm moving to the carribean'

I'm also a S'Affer in London. Enjoy reading your blog. Hope you get everything sorted with your visa.

Insomniac: Thanks for the support, love. You've got to be pretty chilly too right about now.

I share the carribean dream! Hand me the factor 40, and a margerita! Even the bloody Oz outback looks tempting today!
